Yay! It’s Bastille Day Celebration Party in NYC all over again and I am really excited though I have never been but always say I will. This July 13th, 2014 will be the day!!!!!
My neighbor sent me the info and I got so excited. I love Paris, wine and the French language. This year, I will finally hike on over to the other side; the East side that is. Watch out East side suckers! I’m coming over form the West Side…on a Sunday! What on Earth am I talking about? Sounds like I am about to barge into the Bastille myself! Or like I already had some of the wine but I didn’t. (More on that history later because I know you want the info to the food and drinks part first.
I can’t wait to have those Crepes and French wine. Oh Paris…
Here is the info copied from the www.Bastilleny.com website:

And if you have no idea what Bastille Day is, here is a little history:
“The Bastille (French pronunciation: [bastij]) was a fortress in Paris, known formally as the Bastille Saint-Antoine. It played an important role in the internal conflicts of France and for most of its history was used as a state prison by the kings of France. It was stormed by a crowd on 14 July 1789 in the French Revolution, becoming an important symbol for the French Republican movement, and was later demolished and replaced by the Place de la Bastille.” –Wikipedia.
So thank you, courageous people for standing up for yourselves. I look forward to celebrating this special day for the first time.
